Lanterns

September 2015

On a recent trip to Vietnam, Peta visited the beautiful town of Hoi an. Hoi an is home of the Lantern. The ancient art of lantern making is still practised in this region. Peta managed to find a traditional lantern maker who could make custom-made lanterns incorporating Mulla Mulla fabrics. Luckily she had taken a stash of fabric with her for jus this sort of occasion.

During the day, hundreds of lanterns decoratively line the streets and alleyways but at night they are all lit up and glowing. Handmade paper lanterns and sent off down the river like glow bugs bobbing around silently.
